Anchors –

Just a couple of updates for you today.

Clinical Champions – Bundle Advisory Teams

  • This week HHSC had calls with each of the clinical BATs to discuss the latest round (Round 3) of voting on potential measures for hospitals and academic health science centers, and a call is scheduled Monday with the Technical Advisory Team.
  • In Round 3, BAT members were asked to rank each measure on a Likert scale and to rank the most important measures. They were also given the opportunity to submit additional measures – both existing measures with a steward not previously included in their measure bundle and innovative measures.  Additional measures with a measure steward that were submitted with enough information will be added to the roster for Round 4 voting. HHSC will need additional time to review the innovative measure submissions so those may be managed outside of the BAT voting process for now.
  • HHSC will remove some measures with low scores from the voting roster for Round 4 depending on the volume of available measures. HHSC is targeting roughly 3-8 measures for each bundle and we do not intend that all measures will be required.
  • HHSC will be sending the Round 4 voting companion and a summary of all BAT calls held this week to BAT members today, and we will forward these to anchors.  Round 4 voting surveys will be sent to BAT members on Monday May 15th and will close on Sunday May 21st.
  • Attached are the Round 3 voting summaries that were discussed on this week’s BAT calls.

Postpartum Depression Toolkit

  • Texas Health and Human Services has released a new Texas Clinician’s Postpartum Depression Toolkit, which is intended to be a resource for Texas clinicians on screening, diagnosis and treatment of postpartum depression. The toolkit includes coverage and reimbursement options for postpartum depression through Medicaid, CHIP, the Healthy Texas Women Program, the Family Planning Program and other referral options.
  • You can download the toolkit here. Please email womenshealth@hhsc.state.tx.us with any questions.

Have a great weekend!  Thanks,
