Many of you knew and worked with our colleague Myra McCollum; for many years Myra helped guide our institutional foray into social media and helped craft many of the practices and policies that we employ at UTMB today. Myra retired in December, and is enjoying her well-earned break.
It is my pleasure to share that Tamara Sherrod has officially joined the Marketing & Communication Digital Team, as our new point person on social media. She brings tremendous talent and energy to the position, along with great past relevant experience that was bolstered by her shadowing and backing up Myra for several months. Tamara knows the role, understands the technology and is plugged into our institution.
She has already hit the ground running, and is the perfect person to build on past work, forge new relationships and keep us on moving ahead in what is a very dynamic and important area of consumer engagement.
We are looking forward to engaging and re-connecting with all of you, and will be seeking opportunities to introduce Tamara in person. In the meantime, you may reach her with questions or for assistance at tasherro(at)utmb.edu or ext. 78336.
Tamara’s charge will be to help us mine the many opportunities and safely navigate around the pitfalls of social media. Among her roles, she will be offering user education, doing outreach and providing support and coordination for key partners like you.
